Solutions in Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Systems
DMR stands for Digital Mobile Radio, and it is an international standard specifically defined for two‑way radios. The DMR standard allows equipment from different manufacturers to be implemented within the same network for all functions specified in the standard.
The goal of the DMR standard was to create a low‑complexity, low‑cost digital radio system that enables interoperability among equipment from different manufacturers, allowing users to choose the product they prefer instead of being tied to a particular system, which would otherwise result in much higher maintenance and replacement costs.
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is responsible for creating and maintaining the DMR standard. The standard was first ratified in 2005 and has since been updated and modified several times, most recently in November 2018.
Coverage Tailored to Your Needs: Standard vs. Plus
Choosing the right communication equipment is crucial for the productivity of your operation. To help you make the best decision, we have designed two coverage lines: Standard and Plus, with clear differences in performance and range.
Both lines deliver quality and performance, but they are designed for different coverage needs:
Standard Line: The ideal option when the area to be covered is specific and well‑defined (e.g., a moderately sized building, a closed warehouse, a small campus area). It offers an excellent cost‑benefit ratio for controlled areas.
Plus Line: Recommended for operations that require maximum range, such as large facilities, extensive outdoor areas, or environments with many obstacles (thick walls, multiple floors, etc.) where the signal needs greater power to penetrate.
This improvement is not accidental; it is due to the technical superiority of the Plus devices, which feature two key factors to maximize range and clarity.
| Feature | Standard Line Equipment | Plus Line Equipment | Plus Benefit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reception Sensitivity | Up to -95dBm | Up to -106dBm | Greater ability to capture weak signals. This means your equipment can "hear" the signal from others at a longer distance. |
| Output Power | 1.8W maximum | 2.8W maximum | Greater transmission strength. Your equipment can send your voice farther and with greater clarity. |
